The sweetness that rolled off your tongue as you said it

The joy I felt had made me forget any sorrow
I've felt in my entire life

Nothing felt as good as when my heart responded

We thought we would last an eternity
A Happy ever after love story
Like the ones you read in the children's books
Then something came between us
Tore us apart as if we were never supposed to become one
Separated us as if we were never supposed to exist
It’s their fault
Cancer, they say
All four opinions with that same homewrecker name

It's too far progressed they said

As I prepare for our Shakespeare ending?

Being alone feels better than being around others

People are overly loud

Miserable

dull

And will always betray you

Alone I say is better

That way no one can hurt you

Alone is always the best way to be

Is what I tell myself

Because if not

the silence from being alone will consume me.
